Don't ignore the used markets though, most my gear is lightly used or mint open box items and I get great deals. Basically, it works well with brighter sounding guitars but on my les paul or humbuckers (which are always darker than single coil) it doesn't sound great. By dark I mean bass heavy, lacking treble or high end chime.
